The annual Oporto awards were held on Wednesday 10th March 2010 where Oporto at Stockland Wetherill Park was crowned Oporto Store of the Year 2009. The nominations for this award are based on a variety of measurements including excellence in customer service and store operations.
To add to this, Oporto Stockland Wetherill Park has been nominated for the Fairfield City Local Business Awards to be held on 14th April. The store has been nominated for Best Fast Food/Takeaway in the area, as nominated by the local community. Praise indeed – but well deserved.
Franchisees Moose Khalife and Adrian Pinazza opened their first Oporto store in Wetherill Park in June 2007. At the time they had a hunch that the legendary Bondi Burger and fresh grilled chicken would be a hit with the local community. Now, after securing this award of Oporto Store of the Year and nominated in the Fairfield City Local Business Awards after two years of trading years, that hunch has become a firm reality.
Nominations for the Best Fast Food/Takeaway category are based on excellent customer service, the quality and variety on the menu and value for money. “Oporto’s all about fresh quality product and authentic great taste – that’s what we pride ourselves on. It’s great to see that our customers value and recognise this.” says Moose.
Aside from providing their customers with best tasting fresh grilled chicken and burgers in the area, both Moose and Adrian are firm believers in supporting the local community on as many fronts as possible. Moose and Adrian would like to thank all there local Oporto customers for their support and all their staff for their hard work. “I am a strong believer in my people. I hire the best, train them properly, retain and reward them” says Adrian. “I want them to be obsessed about Oporto, the way Moose and I am.”
